Growing up in a family that always hosted people, Yaniv remembers himself helping his parents whenever he could. There were always different kinds of food and flavors in the house. From there, the road to the kitchen was only logical to him.
After jump-starting his career in LA and New York City, Yaniv moved back to Israel and started working in Tel Aviv. He had the opportunity to work with great chefs such as Meir Adoni at 'The Mizlala' and Hilel Tavakuli at 'Pastel'. As he was living close to the Karmel Market he learned more and more about Middle Eastern spices and local ingredients. He became hooked on working with the inspiring Middle Eastern flavors.
Nacarat will be a unique and interesting place, where people will feel Yaniv’s passion for food and enjoy the flavors, colors and music of the Middle East, and especially Tel Aviv.
MEET OUR CHEF ANGELO KREMMYDAS
He just moved to Amsterdam from London, where he was working as a Head Chef at NOPI, one of the Ottolenghi restaurants. He’s keen to get started and put Nacarat right on top of Amsterdam’s culinary map!
Angelo’s passion for cooking started when he was young, getting involved in his mother’s cooking. Being raised by a Dutch mother, family dinners always involved different flavours: from traditional Greek dishes up to nasi goreng and Surinamse rotis.
Angelo is all about trying new things and new cuisines. Nacarat will not be just another restaurant. It will become a restaurant that brings people together. Our sharing menus will bring to Amsterdam traditional middle eastern flavours, within a great atmosphere, in our unique way.
